Role: Research Officer

Roy is a research officer for Future Climate for Africa. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Honours degree in Environmental Analysis and Management from the University of Pretoria. He has also obtained his Master’s degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from the University of Cape Town. In the past Roy has been involved in various research projects at the University of Cape Town relating to climate change in Africa. Most recently he worked in the African Climate and Development Initiative(ACDI) on the Adaptation at Scale in Semi-Arid Regions (ASSAR) project  where he worked with quantifying the local impacts of global warming on vulnerable sectors in 6 African countries. Outside of his research work Roy is passionate about music and worked as a PR and Media coordinator with OppiKoppi Music Festival between 2015-2018.
