Cornelia has a background in atmospheric modelling with the Weather Research & Forecasting model (WRF). Currently she is focused on remote sensing data to analyse characteristics of high impact weather in West Africa. Cornelia is interested in how and at which scales surface characteristics may impact the West African monsoon system and the occurrence or maintenance of convective systems. Cornelia holds a Diploma degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Environmental Engineering from TU Berlin, Germany and a Phd from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
