Tea production:
Through the Climate Information for Resilient Tea Production (CI4Tea) Project, HyCRISTAL in partnership with UMFULA is engaging tea sector stakeholders in Kenya and Malawi including the Tea Research Institute, Kenya, the private tea estates such as Unilever, Finlays, Eastern Produce and smallholder farmer association; the Kenya Tea Development Agency to produce relevant future climate information for identified climate metrics to explore potential adaptation options.
Lake Victoria lake levels and transport:
Through the HyCristal Transport Pilot Project (HyTPP: funded by UK Aid from the UK Department for International Development (DFID), through the Corridors for Growth Trust Fund (C4G TF), administered by the World Bank) HyCRISTAL is analysing plausible changes in Lake Victoria lake levels under climate change for planning Lake transport infrastructure and management.
